Treatment for children's cancers and blood disorders

Care for children with leukaemia, lymphoma, solid tumours and non-cancerous blood disorders, planned by doctors who treat only children.

Pending doctor check

What it is

A paediatric haemato-oncologist plans the whole treatment, which may combine chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and bone marrow transplant. Doses and care are suited to a growing child, with support for the family throughout.

Who needs it

Children with blood cancers such as leukaemia and lymphoma, solid tumours, or blood disorders such as thalassaemia and aplastic anaemia.

Typical hospital stay
Depends on the treatment plan. Many chemotherapy sessions are day care; a bone marrow transplant needs about a month in hospital.
Recovery time
Treatment often lasts several months. The doctor explains which parts must be done in India and which can continue at home.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
