ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)

Advanced endoscopy to see and treat the bile ducts and pancreas without surgery.

Pending doctor check

What it is

In ERCP, a camera through the mouth reaches the bile duct to remove stones or place a stent. In EUS, an ultrasound on the camera gives close views of the pancreas and nearby organs and can take samples.

Who needs it

People with bile duct stones, jaundice, narrowing of the bile duct, or a lump in the pancreas.

Typical hospital stay
Usually a day case or one night. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
Most people return to normal activity in 1 to 2 days.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
