Surgery for cancers of the ovary, womb (uterus), cervix and vulva, keeping fertility where it is safe.

Pending doctor check

What it is

The surgeon removes the cancer and, where needed, the womb, ovaries and nearby lymph nodes. For advanced ovarian cancer, extensive (ultra-radical) surgery aims to remove all visible disease. In young women with early cancer, fertility-sparing surgery may keep the womb or an ovary. Keyhole and robotic surgery are used where they suit.

Who needs it

Women with cancer of the ovary, womb, cervix or vulva, and some gynaecological sarcomas.

Typical hospital stay
Usually 3 to 10 days in hospital. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
Usually 4 to 6 weeks. Chemotherapy or radiotherapy may follow.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
