Eye care (ophthalmology)
A laser reshapes the clear front of the eye (the cornea) so that glasses or contact lenses are no longer needed.
Pending doctor checkThe cornea is reshaped with a laser so light focuses correctly on the retina. In LASIK and bladeless Femto-LASIK a thin flap is lifted before the laser works; in CLEAR, a small piece of tissue is removed through a tiny keyhole without a flap. Both eyes are usually treated in the same session, which takes about 15 to 30 minutes, under numbing drops.
Adults over 18 whose glasses power has been stable for at least a year, with healthy eyes and a cornea thick enough for the treatment. Detailed scans decide which method suits you.
Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.
Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.
A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.
Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.
Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.
Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.
Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.
The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.

The surgeon decides after scans of your cornea. Your reports from home help us give you a first opinion before you travel.
