Limb lengthening and deformity correction

Surgery to straighten a bent leg or arm, or to lengthen a short one, done gradually with a special frame or nail.

Pending doctor check

What it is

The bone is cut and slowly pulled apart, about 1 mm a day, with an external frame or an internal nail, so new bone grows in the gap. Bent bones can be straightened in the same way.

Who needs it

Children and adults with unequal leg length, bowed legs or knock knees, or deformity after a fracture or infection.

Typical hospital stay
Usually 3 to 5 days. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
Lengthening takes months, with regular checks and physiotherapy. The team plans the timeline with you.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
