Children's heart surgery

Operations and keyhole procedures to repair heart problems babies and children are born with.

Pending doctor check

What it is

Holes in the heart, narrowed valves and other birth defects are repaired by open surgery or with devices passed through a blood vessel, without opening the chest.

Who needs it

Babies and children with congenital heart disease, such as ASD, VSD, PDA and tetralogy of Fallot.

Typical hospital stay
Usually 1 to 3 days after a catheter procedure; 7 to 14 days after open surgery. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
Children often recover quickly. Plan for about 2 to 3 weeks in India after open surgery.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
