Radiation therapy for lung cancer

Radiation aimed at a lung cancer, as the main treatment or together with chemotherapy or surgery.

Pending doctor check

What it is

Beams are shaped to the tumour and timed to your breathing. Small early cancers can be treated with SBRT in a few sessions; larger ones over several weeks.

Who needs it

People with lung cancer at any stage, including those not fit for surgery.

Typical hospital stay
No hospital stay: outpatient sessions. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
Tiredness, a cough or a sore throat can occur and usually ease weeks after treatment.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
