Radical hysterectomy

Removal of the womb, cervix, top of the vagina and nearby tissue, to treat cervical or womb cancer.

Pending doctor check

What it is

More tissue is removed than in a standard hysterectomy, often with the pelvic lymph nodes. It is usually done by keyhole or robotic surgery.

Who needs it

Women with early cervical cancer, and some with womb cancer.

Typical hospital stay
Usually 3 to 5 days. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
Most women return to normal activity in 6 to 8 weeks.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
