Robotic prostatectomy (prostate cancer surgery)

Removal of the prostate with a surgical robot, to treat prostate cancer that has not spread.

Pending doctor check

What it is

The whole prostate and nearby glands are removed through small cuts. The robot's precision helps the surgeon protect the nerves that control urine and erections.

Who needs it

Men with prostate cancer that is confined to the prostate and who are fit for surgery.

Typical hospital stay
Usually 2 to 3 days. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
A urine catheter stays in for about 1 to 2 weeks. Most men return to normal activity in 4 to 6 weeks; bladder control usually improves over weeks to months.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
