Salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of tube and ovary)

Removal of one or both fallopian tubes and ovaries (unilateral or bilateral).

Pending doctor check

What it is

The tube and ovary on one side, or both sides, are removed by keyhole or robotic surgery.

Who needs it

Women with ovarian cysts or tumours, a high inherited cancer risk (such as BRCA), severe endometriosis or infection.

Typical hospital stay
Usually 1 to 2 days. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
Most women return to normal activity in 2 to 4 weeks. Removing both ovaries brings on menopause.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
