Squint surgery and children's eye care

Surgery on the eye muscles to straighten eyes that turn in, out, up or down, for children and adults.

Pending doctor check

What it is

The muscles that move the eye are tightened or loosened so the eyes line up. Children also have their sight checked for lazy eye and glasses before any surgery is planned.

Who needs it

Children and adults with a squint that glasses or exercises have not corrected.

Typical hospital stay
No hospital stay: it is a day procedure. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
The eye is red and sore for a week or two. Plan to stay in India for about a week.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
