Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS and SBRT)

Very precise, high-dose radiation aimed at a small target from many angles, in one to five sessions.

Pending doctor check

What it is

No cut is made. Detailed scans guide many thin beams that meet at the tumour. It is used in the brain (SRS) and in the body, such as the lung, liver and spine (SBRT).

Who needs it

People with small brain tumours, cancer that has spread to the brain or spine, early lung cancer, and some liver and prostate cancers.

Typical hospital stay
No hospital stay: one to five outpatient sessions. Your hospital confirms it for your case.
Recovery time
Most people return to normal activity the same day or the next.

What affects the cost

Every patient gets their own estimate, in writing, from the hospital. These are the things that move it.

  1. 01

    The hospital and the city

Room types, equipment and running costs differ from one hospital to the next.

  2. 02

    The doctor

A surgeon's fee follows their experience and how complex the operation is.

  3. 03

    The technique and the materials

Keyhole or robotic surgery, and the make of any implant, can change the price.

  4. 04

    Your health

Other conditions, earlier treatment and the tests you need before treatment all count.

  5. 05

    How long you stay

Days in hospital, any time in intensive care and the weeks you spend recovering in India.

  6. 06

    What else you need

Physiotherapy, medicines to take home and follow-up visits are added only if your doctor asks for them.

The estimate is not final until the doctor has examined you in India. If anything changes, we explain it before you agree to it.
